Michael G. Curran was born in Portland, Maine in 1957 and grew up in southern New Hampshire. Michael graduated from Spaulding High School in Rochester, NH in 1975 followed by a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master’s degree in education (M.Ed.) from the University of New Hampshire in 1979, 1980 respectively.

Michael G. Curran was born in Portland, Maine in 1957 and grew up in southern New Hampshire. Michael graduated from Spaulding High School in Rochester, NH in 1975 and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and Master’s degree in education (M.Ed.) from the University of New Hampshire in 1979, 1980 respectively.
After graduate school, Michael moved to Greensboro, NC to continue graduate studies in education and work at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During his three-year tenure at UNC-G, Michael was the Varsity Men’s and Women’s swim coach, the Director of the intramural sports program and a Resident Director of several dormitories.
In 1983, Michael left education to pursue a career in the financial services industry. In 1987, Michael moved his family to the Triangle to manage an office of the Principal Financial Group. Michael has always valued education, so he completed a second Master’s degree in Financial Services (M.S.F.S.) and several professional designations including a CFP (Certified Financial Planner), CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter and ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant).
In 1992, Michael founded the firm Executive Benefit Services (“EBS”), a financial services firm exclusively focused on the design, implementation, financing and administration of nonqualified deferred compensation plans. EBS quickly became a national leader in nonqualified plans and in 2001, Michael sold EBS to the Principal Financial Group, a Fortune 500 financial services company. Michael remained on as CEO until January of 2005 when he decided to take a sabbatical from business to pursue the mission of the Curran Family Foundation.
Over the next five years, Michael dedicated himself full-time to the mission of the Curran Family Foundation and led the construction of the Triangle Aquatic Center (“TAC”), a 82,000-sf nonprofit public aquatic facility in his home town of Cary, NC. After TAC opened to the community, Michael joined CAPTRUST Financial Advisors in 2009 to build out a new nonqualified executive benefits division. With the successful buildout of the nonqualified division completed, Michael joined Swimmingly, LLC in 2013 as President and Co-Managing Partner with Managing Partner and Olympic Gold Medalist Charlie Houchin. Swimminglyis the developer of the #1 APP using mobile devices to run summer swim meets in less time, with fewer volunteers and with much less paper complexity.
Michael lives in Cary, NC with his wife Robyn of 39 years where they raised three children. Kristin Curran Pake, is a graduate in religious studies and history from Saint Mary’s college in Notre Dame, IN (GO Irish) and a graduate from Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH with a Master’s degree in counseling and lives in Apex with her husband Tyler and son Sonny. Bryttany Curran Todd, is a graduate in psychology from the University of Tennessee (GO VOLS) where she swam for the Tennessee Lady Vols swim team for four years. Bryttany lives in Apex with her husband Jordan Todd. Danielle Curran Williams, is a graduate in public relations from the University of Florida (GO Gators) and lives with her husband Travis in Jacksonville, FL. with their two children, Trevor and Peyton.

Robyn Curran was born in Oceanside, NY in 1960 and graduated from New Fairfield, CT High School in 1978. Robyn swam year-round for the Wilton YMCA swim team and became a national level swimmer. Robyn attended college at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she swam for the UNC-G Spartans swim team and graduated with a degree in English education in 1983.
Robyn and Michael were married in New Fairfield, CT in 1982 and they raised three children, Kristin, Bryttany and Danielle in Apex / Cary, NC. Robyn was an active volunteer mom in all of their girl’s activities including the PTA, coached their summer league swim teams, was a Meet Director for the year-round swim team, choral trip coordinator and soccer mom.

Kristin Curran Pakewas born in Greensboro, NC in 1985 and grew up in Apex / Cary, NC. Kristin graduated from Cary Academy High School in 2003 and went on to Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN where she graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in religious studies and history. After three years of mission work in Arizona working with organizations such as Youth Arise Ministries, the Newman Center and Maggie’s Place, Kristin entered graduate school at Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH where she earned a M.A. in clinical mental health counseling in 2014 and was the assistant swim coach for the Franciscan Barons.
After graduate school, Kristin joined Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, NC where she taught theology and helped coach the Crusaders swim team. Today, Kristin is a full-time mom and lives in Apex with her husband Tyler and son Sonny. In her free time, Kristin enjoys running, being at Lake Gaston with family and reading.

Bryttany Curran Todd was born in Greensboro, NC in 1988 and grew up in Apex / Cary, NC. Bryttany graduated from Cary Academy High School in 2006 and received an athletic scholarship to swim for the University of Tennessee Lady Vols swim team.

Bryttany Curran Todd was born in Greensboro, NC in 1988 and grew up in Apex / Cary, NC. Bryttany graduated from Cary Academy High School in 2006 and received an athletic scholarship to swim for the University of Tennessee Lady Vols swim team. While swimming for four years at the University of Tennessee, Bryttany prioritized giving back to the community through volunteering with various nonprofit organizations. In 2009, Bryttany was presented with the Howard Aldmon Female Volunteer Award and in 2010, was a Brad Davis SEC Community Service Award nominee and was voted co-captain of the Lady Vols swim team by her teammates during her senior year. Bryttany graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2010. After traveling Europe and working in Boston, Bryttany returned home to the Triangle in 2013.
Today, Bryttany works full-time with the Renaissance Computing Institute as a Project Manager and is also the Worship Leader for the 519 church.Bryttany lives in Apex, NC with her husband Jordan and in her free time, Bryttany enjoys playing music, rock climbing, reading, and spending time with her family, husband Jordan, and step-daughter Hailey.

Danielle Curran Williams was born in Raleigh, NC in 1990 and grew up in Apex/Cary N.C. Danielle graduated from Cary Academy High School in 2008 and went on to graduate with honors from the University of Florida with a BS degree in public relations.

Danielle Curran Williams was born in Raleigh, NC in 1990 and grew up in Apex/Cary N.C. Danielle graduated from Cary Academy High School in 2008 and went on to graduate with honors from the University of Florida with a BS degree in public relations. After graduating, Danielle moved to Jacksonville, FL where she interned with the Tim Tebow Foundation (TTF). While at TTF, she was responsible for their Team Tebow initiative that helped inspire people to get out and serve in their communities and around the world.
After her internship, Danielle spent three and a half years as the Marketing Specialist for Jax Federal Credit Union. There, she served on the credit union’s Pride Committee that helped raise funds for local charities in Jacksonville such as K9s for Warriors, Dreams Come True & Miriam’s Basket.
Today, Danielle lives in Jacksonville, FL with her husband Travis and is a full-time mother to her son Trevor and daughter Peyton and works part-time for the Jax Church. In their free time, Danielle and Travis love taking their son Trevor, daughter Peyton and their two dogs to the beach, visiting family at the lake, kayaking, grilling out with friends and traveling.
