When and why was the Foundation created? |
ANSWER: The Foundation was incorporated on April 11, 2003 and initially funded with a gift from its founder, Michael G. Curran. The Foundation was created to provide financial resources to community programs that positively impact the lives of children and young adults.

ANSWER: The Foundation distributes grants based on earnings in the Foundation from the prior year. Annual grants to the community from inception have been $107,820 in 2004, $509,410 in 2005, $662,196 in 2006, $746,790 in 2007, $868,834 in 2008, $518,175 in 2009 and $413,202 in 2010, $423,125 in 2011 totaling $4,230,821.

With limited resources, how does the foundation prioritize grants? |
ANSWER: The Foundation realizes that there are significant needs throughout the country and the world for program funding. Due to limited resources and a desire to help support local nonprofit organizations, the Foundation's primary focus is to provide grants to Wake County nonprofit organizations.
